This guide will explain how to create a user and setup Cloudli mobile Application on Cloudli Connect.
Login to https://connect.cloudli.com
Creating a user
- Open the menu "Client-Sales"
- Click "Users"
- Click "New"
- Provide necessary information
- Click "Save"
- Go to the "Login" tab
- Click "Edit"
- Select an email address*
- Enter a password
- Click "Save"
Repeat above steps for each user you wish to create.
NOTE: Username must be a unique email address. You can not create two users with the same login.
Now you can log into the Cloudli Apps with the newly created users. Users will be able to text each other and call each other, but will not be able to send/receive calls/text with the PSTN.
Example of 3 users :
- Alice Janeway // alice.janeway@example.net
- Bob Sisko // bob.sisko@example.net
- Charles Picard // charles.picard@example.net
If you do not create an extension, an extension will automatically be created for the new users when they first login to the apps.
Voicemail
There is no special configuration required for voicemail. A user simply needs to have at least one voicemail associated to their user.
Voicemail is not a requirement to use the applications.
Call Forwarding
All calls are forwarded to the Cloudli application by default. Users are able to override this behavior by selecting "Do not forward to Cloudli application" in the call forwarding section from the web portal.
SIP Binding
SIP Binding can be found in the user itself in the menu in the action bar.
This screen will give you connection information for the app, example :
Configuring Telephone Numbers
In order to be able to communicate with the PSTN, the account requires at least one phone number.
Phone numbers can be configured in the account under the "Telephony" menu.
- Click "Telephony" menu
- Click "Numbers"
- Click "New"
- Select the phone number to be used
- Set the voice action for the number in the action field
- Click "Save"
- Open the "Members" tab
- Click "Edit"
- Select the users who can use this number for texting
- Click "Save"
This is an optional step as users will still be able to communicate between them.
Faxing
Faxing does not work with the application. This is a known issue.
Cloudli Mobile Application
Install
In order to use the application, you must first download it from their respective locations :
Login
Once the application is installed, simply login with the users created in the first section.
Example:
username : alice.janeway@example.net
password : secret-set-when-you-created-her-login-credentials
Sending your first message
Go to your contacts and select a contact to send messages or make phone calls.
Try sending a message to another user!
Texting with a number
Before you send a text to a user, be sure to select the source number in the left hand context menu.
Dialing with a number
If you dial an external number, and you have not selected an outbound number in the app, the server will choose the best caller ID for you ( based on distance between numbers in the account and destination number ).
If you select a number before dialing in the left menu, this is the number that will be displayed as caller ID to the destination.
